Any GPS app is only as good as the GPS signal and the map data. I think to be off by one address is quite normal and if the weather is really bad or you are between very tall buildings the inaccuracy can be much larger.
At best you get about an accuracy of 15 feet, but considering that a typical town lot is only 50 feet wide and some are only 30, if your accuracy is 30 or 40 feet you can be off by one or 2 houses easy enough.this can be From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Sherry Wells Sent: Thursday, September 18, 2014 8:02 AM To: viphone Subject: Maps - Location Off Hi all, I’m a new IPhone user & have a 5s. I’ve been playing around with maps an noticed my location is always slightly off where I really am. At home maps has me in the address next door for instance. This isn’t even consistent as once, maps had me several addresses down the street. I have tried a couple of other locations too & maps is always slightly off. Is this normal? And if one were to use maps to get anywhere, would you end up a door or two down from where you really wanted to go? At this point, I would not have any confidence in using maps. Do others use it or does everyone just get one of the better gps apps? Thanks. Regards, Sherry Wells -- The following information is important for all members of the viphone list.
