Hi Annie,

The field report gives you feedback on how well you have the camera
positioned over the item you are trying to read. You are correct. Ideally,
a field report will tell you that you have all of the edges in the picture.
With that said, it is not absolutely necessary to have all the edges in the
camera's view to have text read to you. Today, I took what I thought was
junk mail and made sure the top edge was in the field range. I did this
thinking the return address would be in the upper left hand corner. In this
case the return address was read quickly and accurately. Another thing I do
to help with alignment is to line the edge of what I am trying to read with
the edge of my desk or kitchen counter.

Do you have the tilt feature turned on? This has been extremely helpful for
me. My experience has been if you receive the message, "no text," you have
the camera too close to the item you are trying to read. I think the
recommended distance is between eight and ten inches.

HTH,

Lynda

Subject: KNFB reader and field view reports.

Hi all.

I am not getting really good results with knfb reader and my 5s, for me it
is a rather difficult process.

Can anyone explain the field view report option. I can not figure out how to
use it. If I understand it correct it is the phone I will have to move
arround, but it is not all clear to me.

Thank you an advance.

Best regards Annie.
