I'm assuming that when you download the file to your PC using iTunes, that some of the unpacking is done on your PC and not your iPhone. Therefore, you wouldn't need as much space free on your iPhone as you do when you're doing an over the air update and all of the processing is happening on your iPhone. So, in this case then, when you're updating to IOS 8 using iTunes, does anyone know how much free space you need on your iPhone?

Correct. Because the same file is downloaded to iTunes if you do it the iTunes
way. So the space depends on the size of the computer's disk.

I have around 3.8 gb left on my phone and when I am checking
software update it is saying that you need atleast 4.6 gb to install
and one more question that is it the extracting space while the
installing process is going or or will it be permanent after ios 8
gets installed. I means to say that if I update to ios 8, will I be
left with only more then one gb on my device to install apps and
songs or this 4 gb space is temporary. Please answer asap.

Check how much spare space you have on an 8Gb device, the download is 1.6Gb

or so alone, and will need space to manouvre when installing.

Settings/general/about or settings/general/useage

Hi,

I have upgraded, there is no VriceOver difference here. If anything, its
a
little more responsive. I have seen it crash once though.

Cheers,
Brett.

Hello all,
So if you google ios8 iphone 4s, there are many articles warning people
with iPhone 4s for upgrading to IOS8 for performance issues.
Has anyone with iPhone 4s upgraded to IOS8? How's responsiveness of
Voiceover?
Any sluggishness?
Thanks,
