slightly different place for example, the first time more on the tip of my
finger. Second time, the tip of that finger as if I were typing on a
keyboard. Each time, I made the scan slightly different. I have no
problems at all getting the finger print read by the scanner. I used my
thumb and index finger of both hands as these would be the fingers I would
most often use.

When I set up the prints, I made sure I set my finger down from several
angles during the creation process. Also, remember that when you place your
finger on the home button, it must be firmly set. Also, be sure it's not
damp or too cold either. These factors seem to effect recognition, so, for
example, if you have just washed and dried your hands and your finger might
still be cold.
