I assume you're talking about reminders via email from Google Calendar.
I don't see how to do this from your iPhone, except by using a browser.
It looks like you'd have to do this on the Google site. Here's an

When you schedule an event, you can adjust the reminders, and specify
just a popup say and no email reminders.
