Hi Les,
You have to look at something like the Limeade L180X which has a capacity of 18,000 MAH, 3 times that of the Peak 6000. It should allow you to charge your phone about 9 or 10 times before the battery runs out of juice. Keep in mind that these external batteries are meant as an emergency power supply, e.g. you are out and about all morning and used the GPS a lot and after lunch you are down to 10% battery power, but you still have 5 hours to go until you get home. Here is where you would want to pull out your Peak 6000 or whichever battery you decide to buy and plug your phone in. You can use it as it charges and within an hour or a bit more depending on how much you use things like GPS, make calls etc. your battery will be mostly back to 100% and you have lots of juice left to get you through the day. The battery is not necessarily meant as a primary power source for your device, after all, you are most likely sleeping somewhere so even if you are travelling and stay at a hotel or maybe you stay with friends, you still have the opportunity to charge your iPhone over night off the grid so to speak. If I plug in the cable that comes with my 4S into the Peek 6000, I can only charge the battery three times? I charge my battery every day, so within a week, I would not be able to use the Peek to charge the iPhone? I must be missing something, as I would think one could continue to charge the phone beyond three times. I find in reality that 3 times is scraping the bottom of the barrel, maybe if you plug it in right when it's at 20% and then don't use yor phone while it is charging then you will get 3 times out of it. You definitely get 2 full charges and a partial third charge out of it. What does that mean? Does it mean you get three times the normal talk time? I saw something in the description that referred to 27 hours of talk time and wonder if that is what you referred to? I've ordered this device today from Amazon. I believe I ordered the one with the talking feature, as on Amazon's site, it was stated that this device has been available since August of 2012. Thanks. I have bought the limeade 18000 and I got it the day before yesterday. I like the battery very much. You can use which cable you would like on the limeade 18000. An advantage is that you can charge with a USB charger or a computer. Best regards Annie. I wonder if anyone out there has an opinion regarding the following. I am thinking of purchasing either a limeade 18000 or a peak 6000. the one advantage to the peak 6000 is that it has the ability to speak status. Does anyone on the list have a peak 6000? Also, come the end of the year I will be roling over my two year contract and will be getting a new iPhone which I assume will have the lightning connector so I don't want to be tied to a device which has only the 32 pin connectors. I assume both of these packs have the ability to use standard USB plugs with what ever connector at the other end.
