Hi Mary Ellen, I am not sure what app you refer to. If you want to buy ringtones from iTunes, then you can do this by going to Settings, Sounds and then double tap on Ringtone (the button that shows your default ringtone). This opens a listing of all the ringtones on your phone and at the very top right is the "Store" button which will take you to iTunes where you can browse ringtones, listen to them and buy them if you want just like you would buy an app or a song. If you do buy ringtones from Apple in this way they will download into the correct folder on your phone, you can sync them to your computer for backup purposes and they are immediately available in your list of ringtones after they download.
