Hi Shirley, You need to make sure that the reader is plugged all the way into the jack. On mine, when it plugs all the way in, it snaps in place. Also, I do not hear VO even through my blue tooth headphones once the reader is all the way in. That could just be my configuration, however. Also, you should have someone sighted with you and perform some practice swipes to determine an appropriate swiping speed. If you swipe too fast or too slow, the card can not be scanned correctly.
