HI.
As others have said, it's highly dependent on your area. For example,
where I work, ATT customers do not get even 3G coverage, while I
consistently get 3g and sometimes LTE depending on where I am exactly.
As far as I can tell, with the iPhone 5 on Verizon, you can use data
and be on the phone at the same time. I gett iMessages and emails
while on calls just fine, and have also browsed the web while on a
conference call that was particularly boring. LOL.
