Hi, Updates should definitely not be blank although if you have Genius for Apps enabled in Settings, |Privacy, Location Services and System, the app store can take a fairly long time to load. I would just go into the app store, make sure the update tab is selected and let it sit for a while, if the screen wants to lock, touch something so it doesn't.
