Hi Carol. I don’t believe I will be using this app much because I too have other recorders. I also prefer to do my editing on a computer rather than on the iPhone, but to answer your question, I have not played with the editing features. I sent this demo because I was struck by two things.
First, that it was an improvement over the already good iPhone microphone. Also, because I was surprised that Apple allowed a company to bypass their processing. They are often a bit more controlling than that, but, perhaps things are changing. I don’t know other apps that do this, but Fire 2 definitely does. You have the way to control the volume, compression, limiter and other audio features. There is a setting in the app that allows you to completely turn off the microphone processing done by apple. First I use List Recorder to record the actual sound of the microphone with all of apple’s audio processing turned on, which is the only way most apps can do it. Next, there is a recording made in Fire 2 with the processing turned off.
