You mean the apps name is showing as Free Play? Mine is showing as Song Guru. 
Both the free and the paid versions, once downloaded, showed as Song Guru.

I made sure to download the correct app.  I have also cleared the app switcher 
and, like you, my orientation is locked.  Now, though, when I go into my list 
of available apps, it comes up as “free play.”  Is this the same app?

I am not sure. Have you removed it from the app switcher, rebooted the device 
and tried it again? Mine doesn’t even switch to landscape mode, but I do have 
mine set to portrait lock.

I downloaded the paid version of Song Guru.  After saying no to the iTunes free 
app of the day, all I can hear is music.  The app seems to put you in landscape 
mode as well.  Neither flicking nor touching the screen to find links seem to 
help.  What am I doing wrong?  Thanks.
