You could also use Google Voice to do this. You can send an SMS message
from the Google Voice home page. You can get a Google voice number for free
if you don't have one.

might want to google how to send text messages by email to whoever your
provider is. Quite often that is possible and you wouldmost likely use the
format "[email protected]" or something like that.

Can anyone suggest an app or web service where you can send sms message from
a pc, an XP machine in my case, but a web service wouldn't hurt.
Purpose: to get notes I need to the iPhone quickly and easily. Reminders,
reservation codes, things like that.
