My husband and I have tried thumbs a few times but for me it is usually the index finger on either hand, oddly enough, since I am extremely right-handed it is more often my left hand doing the typing, I was surprised by that as about all I can do left-handed is read braille and pick up things and type of course. I figured I'd use my right to type on the phone but I hve noticed that I hold the phone in my right hand most often, hearing loss in left ear so I talk with it in my right hand and it just seems to fit there better while the left handles keyboard and keypad. What is really odd about this is that when I use a standard telephone, I hold the phone to my ear with the left hand and use the keypad with the right almost all the time. Guess my wiring is all crossed up since the ear problem, at an earlier time I never held a phone to my right ear, never did much but hold it with the left hand. Geesh, I can't even comb my hair left-handed so it is odd how it wants to take over typing on the iPhone.

This is where you find a character with one finger and while leaving your finger on that character, tap the screen with another finger. This is what I prefer when I'[m typing with one finger, while I like touch typing when using my two thumbs.
