Donna, push notifications would be like braking news. When news brakes out we brake in is the way they use to put it. This is a twist on that theme. The app does not have to be open for you to receive a push notification. In general when an app asks me if I want to allow push notifications I usually double tap on don't allow. Other people like having notifications on for say their face book account so they know time somebody writes on their wall or some such stuff. Newspapers can let you know every time there's braking news and again, it's the old when it brakes out, we'll brake in thing again.
