Hi Peter:

Not sure if you have figured out how to do this yet but if not, try this. After
you find the contact you want to edit, double tap it. Next, find the edit
button at the top right of the screen, it’s just below the statis bar, directly
below your battery level indicator.

Next, swipe through the first and last name fields. If you are seeing a remove
mobile, or remove home, or whatever the case may be, this is not the button you
want to tap on. Swipe to the next button, it should just say, mobile, or home,
or whatever the current label is. Double tap here.

Next, swipe through until you find the label you want and double tap it. Next,
double tap the done button which is also at the top right of the screen.

HTH.

Chris Judge

Subject: Re: How to change Moble phone designation toHome?

Sorry Richard, your details do not match my edit screen.

Maybe my using IOS 26.5.2 makes a difference.
There is no label mobile, there is "remove mobile".

When in edit, I flick right, bast the text fields for names and hear:

remove mobile
mobile button
555-5555

When I double tap the "remove mobile" there is only delete.

Some of the contacts have the label "remove home".

Open the contact.

Double tap on edit.

When you land on the label Mobile, double tap. Now flick to home and double tap.

double tap on done where the edit button was and it should save as Home.

Hello,

I'm using the Iphone 17 with IOS 26.

When starting to use the Iphone I created a contact with the phone number in
the appropriate field. I didn't know about designating it as Home or Mobile.

Some contacts cards have phone numbers designated as mobile but they are not
mobile.

When asking Siri to call she sometimes asks if I want "mobile", there is only 1
number and it is Home.

Can they be changed to Home when designated mobile?
