Starting at the bottom of that list, the last one on that list is not wireless,
they are simply a super cheap wired set of traditional earbuds and if anybody
were to consider a wired option, I'd recommend spending a bit more than double
and get a set of Apple Earpods. At $19.99 US still very inexpensive and they
wok extremely well.

The next two options which are Bluetooth and cost $16 on Amazon in the US I
would dismiss from the outset, while some of the brand name models from Bose or
Shokz are very expensive, you do somewhat get what you pay for and for $16 you
will not get much at all.

I have Shokz OpenCom and tried the Openrun Pro, but found them to be not very
loud and I just somehow don't like that behind the head band. Maybe the Minis
would work better, but I always find the band pulls down and it's just not the
right feel for me.

I am quite fond of the clip-on earbuds which seem to be what the Bos Ultra are.
When I was in Germany in April, a friend of mine there had a set from Huawei
called the Freeclip and they were very nice. They are super light and clip to
the top of your earlobe and then there is a little thing with what almost looks
like a small ball at the end which goes down and nds just above your ear canal.
Nothing is in your ear and while these may not give you high fidelity sound for
music, they work great for audio books, Voiceover, GPS instructions and so on.
Monster makes several different models and they are much less expensive, here
on Amazon Canada you can often find them on sale for $59 or $69 with regular
price around $89 or $99, but I tried 2 separate models and once again, even at
that price point you don't get the same quality as you do with the Huawei
Freeclip which here in Canada cost $299, so probably $199 or so in the US. I am
sure the Bose might be very good as well, but at $300 US that means they are
probably $399 Canadian and while I could afford that, I draw the line at such a
price. I will probably keep watch and see if the Huawei Freeclip will be on
sale this coming November/Black Friday. The nice thing with them is that just
as with Airpods you can use only one of them and if you want to use them in
bed, even for a side sleeper it would work.

There are of course the regular Airpod 4 which you can get with or without
active noise cancellation and those are actually traditional earbuds which are
very much like a set of wired EarPods with the wire cut off. I had always
resisted the AirPods hype, but finally decided to get a pair and try them and I
must say they are very good. I only recently started using them outside because
I was afraid I'd drop one because they certainly are not as secure as these
clip-on models, but especially now when I am starting to wear a toque which
sits over top of my ear and helps to prevent them from falling out, I have been
using them. I actually typically use one just in my left ear because even when
I use my wired EarPods, I always just have the left side in when walking
around. They don't block out much sound, but for listening to a book, Voiceover
or making a phone call, one works just fine.
What I really appreciate with the AirPods 4 or I guess any AirPods model is the
fantastic integration with iOS and the fact that Apple has truly managed to
minimize Bluetooth lag to the point that it's not noticeable and that can't be
said for any other Bluetooth headset or speaker I tried and I tried literally a
dozen or more over the years from inexpensive to expensive. But the way the
AirPods alert you of incoming messages, prompt you if you want to start an
outdoor walk workout once you walk for 10 minutes or so and all that is truly
fantastic. I just wish Apple would make a clip-on model like the Huawei
Freeclip.

Subject: The 6 Best Earbuds That Don't Go in Your Ear

As much as I try, I am just not fond of things going in my ears. I have AirPod
pros, but do not use them often. Has anyone used any of the options on this
list? Do you have alternative suggestions? Thank you and enjoy!
