Hi.

I agree that raising the volume of Voiceover is a good thing to do, but what
was throwing me and the woman who worked with me was if I told Siri to do
something, Voiceover was heard at a good volume for about 10 seconds, then it
went away. In the end, I barely heard Voiceover, and raised its volume. It
works great now.

Just sharing

Kevin and Lily

Trying to raise the volume should always be one of the first steps one takes if
Voiceover is absent.
Especially if you have a keyboard connected or a Bluetooth headset, volume for
Voiceover can simply go to 0 and just pressing the volume buttons a few times
will solve it if that was the issue.

Subject: My iPad 13 Pro was as stubborn as I am.

Hi.

I went out yesterday, and I got the Meta Glasses. They work great, but that’s
not important in this message. When I got home, I went out to a local bar where
there’s trivia every Wednesday. I had fun. When I got home, I did some work on
my PC, then called it a night. I’d usually plug in what I’ve taken with me, but
not this night. I needed to send a text to someone, and for me the iPad with
the keyboard case works the best. I opened the lid of the iPad, and got no
response from Voiceover. I then called Apple’s disability line, and got this
awesome woman who spent about 2 hours on the phone with me. Now, here’s the
really weird situation, and I have no explanation for why. I learned that I
could get Voiceover going by activating Siri. It worked great, but after about
30 seconds, Voiceover would stop talking. After many attempts, I heard
Voiceover very quietly. I increased the volume, and it now works like a champ.
Now, I’ve heard folks that have this kind of technology not hear Voiceover, and
raising the volume of it fixes the problem. I had the added twist that
Voiceover would work for a little bit, then go silent.

Just sharing. If anyone else runs into the problem I did, try what did work for
me.

And we’re allowing AI more and more into our lives, and stuff like this
happens? Makes me wonder if these things are starting to make decisions we
don’t like. Honestly, I’m just kidding. AI is wonderful, and can now do so
much. I’ll be real curious what’s next.

Have a blessed day and don’t work too hard.
