I chose the Standard EQ setting because I found it quite good for music.

I use the Vocal EQ for audio books and it too is quite good.

You may be glad to know that these have physical buttons so you don't have to
use the touch control. In fact, they default to the physical buttons and you
would have to go in and change to the touch controls, which I have no interest
in doing.

Each ear has a button and a single tap pauses or plays or answers the phone.

A double tap in audio skips to the next track. A triple tap goes back a track.
Pressing and holding the left ear button lowers the volume in stages and there
is a beep at each level.

Holding the right button down raises the volume the same way.

I don't listen really loud, so I cranked up a song by the progressive rock
group, Renaissance, that has a really clear base guitar and I did not hear any
distortion.

I will say, the 2 plus that have a wireless charging case and a dolby setting
are not really worth the extra $20 since the dolby sound is just a lot of
stadium effect that just makes things sound over done.

But, I'm extremely happy with them and their comfort.

These came out I believe in January of this year, but I just learned about them.

M50BT2 over the head headphones for music listening

Hi Richard, Did you make any adjustments to the EQ on the Open Fit ap during
your comparison? I had a pair of the original Open Fit Shokz a while ago, but
I returned them after a week, because the base sounded distorted at higher
levels and I didn't like the touch controls

Thanks.

Greetings,

I decided to spend more time comparing my over the head headphones from
Audio-Technica, the M50BT2 with the OpenFit 2 from Shokz for music listening.

I sampled various pieces, The War of the Worlds by Jeff Wayne narrated by
Richard Burton, (what could be called a rock musical adaptation of the H. G.
Wells story; a piece focusing on the organ by Rick Wakeman, from his Six Wives
of Henry the 8th, and Samuel Barber's adagio for strings.

The mid range and base on both are quite good. The treble is more pronounced,
as one might expect, on the over-the-head Audio-Technica headphones. While
they still sound fine on the OpenFit 2, if you really want the treble to be
crystal clear, earbuds like the OpenFit 2 will probably not satisfy you.

However, the mid range and the base in some ways seemed more clear to me with
the OpenFit 2 set.

For my personal listening, the convenience of the OpenFit 2 when not at home,
or wanting more access to the sounds around me, the OpenFit 2 are very good.

Obviously, everyone's listening preference is different and so no observation
is right or wrong, but I thought I would at least put this out there.

One needs always to try earphones for themselves and not completely go by what
others say.
