Hi,

I’m glad you got it sorted.

I’m also happy to report that the Sonos speakers I have are working quite well
with the Eero Max 7 wi-fi7 capable router. In case anyone was looking at that
package they can rest easy that there are no known confleicts as of this moment.

Take good care,

Robin

Subject: Sonos Saga with a happy ending

Greetings,

For those using speakers made by Sonos, we bought a new router, the Nighthawk
RS200, by NETGEAR.

Our previous router was almost 10 years old and we were having issues with the
Sonos speakers staying connected.

After my wife did a fair amount of research, she discovered some great comments
on a social network site that talked about our new router specifically.

They observed that if you turn off the Smart connect, which leaves it up to the
router to decide which network, 5G or 2.4G your device needs to connect, and
instead, have a designated 2.4G for Sonos and a 5G for everything else and
connect Sonos to the 2.4G, the problems of Sonos speakers disconnecting,
reconnecting, etc., goes away.

Brilliant! We exclaimed!

It took about 6 hours, going through each of our 10 speakers a total of three
times, once on our own, once with a Sonos rep, and lastly with a NETGEAR
support person, to finally get them all working better than they ever had. The
NETGEAR support person had to change the default channel the 2.4G network was
set to use and now all is running very smoothly.

She set it to channel 11, which is in the range the Sonos person suggested.

Time will tell, but I'm very optimistic.
