Bluetooth is in Control Centre by default, but it is part of the Connectivity group and maybe hidden in the "More" group/category. Having said this, you can absolutely set up a separate item in Control Panel for Bluetooth. Here is how you get started customizing what you have on your control centre screen: 1. Bring up Control Centre by touching the top edge of your phone and swipe down to the first haptic feedback or touch an item in the status bar and swipe up with 3 fingers.
2. On any item in control centre, swipe up or down to "Edit Controls", just as you would on an icon on the home screen if you want to drag it or delete it, then double tap. As an example, I have "Scan Code" on my Control Centre (for scanning QR codes) and if I go to Edit Controls when I am on that item, I hear the following when I double tap on Edit Controls: "Scan Code, is editing, 1 by 1". This means I am in editing mode and the 1 by 1 tells me the size of the Scan Code icon. Depending on the item you are dealing with, icons in the control centre can be 1 by 1, 2 by 1, 1 by 2, 2 by 2 or even 4 by 4. You can visualize it by using the home screen as an example: On the home screen, you have 6 rows of 4 apps/icons each, then you have the page selector bar and below that on the very bottom the dock also with 4 apps/icons. In terms of sizing for control centre, think of each app as 1 by 1, in other words, if you make all items in the control centre 1 by 1, you can also have 4 of them in a row and you can have up to 8 rows of single height items and just as multiple home screens, you can also have multiple control centre screens. For example, you could have only system type controls on your first home screen, e.g. connectivity which is there by default and it is by default 2 by 2 so it takes up two spots from left to right and also 2 rows and you have Airplane Mode and Air Drop in the top row of that 2 by 2 grid and Wi-Fi and More in the bottom row. You could find Bluetooth under "More", but as I said, you can also add it as a separate item. 3. Once you are in "editing Controls", if you swipe down you have the following options: Stop Editing Controls Delete - double tap this to delete a particular control Resize to 2 by 1 Resize to 2 by 2 Show Controls Gallery Drag followed by the name of the control you are on Keep in mind that the "resize" options can vary depending on which control you are on and what size it is, e.g. if you are on a control which is already 2 by 1, then you most likely have a "Resize to 1 by 1" and "Resize to 2 by 2" option. The option to resize to 1 by 2 which means 1 spot wide and 2 spots/rows high is typically only available for up/down toggles like screen brightness or volume where you have an "up" and "down" option. Lastly, the little 2 by 2 Connectivity control which is there by default and contains Airplane mode, Air Drop, Wi-Fi and More, can only be resized to 4 by 8 which means it would take up an entire screen and then it would of course contain a lot more items like Bluetooth, Cellular, Personal Hotspot and much more. 4. If you want to add a control, you would go to Edit Controls and then swipe up twice to Show Controls Gallery, this brings up a large list of many items. You can swipe right through this list, but you can also turn the rotor to heading and navigate by heading where you would find headings in alphabetical order, whether you have a heading or not may depend on whether you have certain apps or not. For example, if you have the Chat GPT or Gemini app, you will have headings for that and if you swipe right from the Gemini heading, you would for example have controls for Type prompt, talk live, open mic, use camera, share image and share file. You can add any of these as separate controls so you could for example have the "Talk Live" control and this would go straight to that feature in the Gemini app rather than you having to open Gemini and then to find the "Talk Live" button. Similarly, you can add a control to "Call Aira" which starts a call to Aira right away. Here are some of the headings I have: Aira Explorer Amazon Alexa Ambient Music Apple Intelligence and Siri Capture Chat GPT Clock Connectivity Display and Brightness Focus Gemini Google Home Just Press Record Measure Notes Now Playing OneNote Reminders Remote Shortcuts Sounds Translate Utilities Voice Memos Wallet Watch Accessibility Hearing Accessibility Motor Accessibility Vision Accessibility - this has many controls you may also add to the Voiceover quick menu like classic invert, colour filters, life recognition, increase contrast, vehicle motion queues, reduce motion, Voiceover, Zoom etc. 5. And finally you can swipe to Edit Controls and if you swipe up once you are on "Drag Control" and this lets you drag a control just like you can drag and app on the home screen. Once you double tap to select to drag a particular control, you an then swipe around to wherever you want to put it and just as with apps, you can then swipe down to either drop the control before the control you are now on or after it. -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] <[email protected]> On Behalf Of Carolyn Arnold Sent: Sunday, September 14, 2025 1:14 PM To: [email protected] Subject: RE: Reliable way of accessing the Control Center Gera, how to you set up a Shortcut in Control Center. Some might say my Control Center looks cluttered, but having these shortcuts on it is such an efficient way to use the Pone! I was so happy when they redesigned the Control Center, I think last September, when iOS18 came out. I use both ways of accessing it, the voiceOver way of focusing a Status bar item and swiping 3 fingers up, or the regular way, of sliding a finger downwards. Depending of what I'm in the mood for at that moment, the method of accessing. Good luck in getting it to work! I just did a test and it's important I think too to bear in mind that when you do the three-finger swipe-up for the control centre and you wish to check out notifications you wil need to focus first again on the status bar and then three-finger swipe down. I find all these apparently simple little tips make the use of the iPhone such a breeze.
