It sounds good, but for me a non-starter is the fact that it still uses Micro USB to recharge. There is no excuse nowadays for this and I simply refuse to buy anything which does not charge via USB-C. I am actually most likely going to use a remaining Best Buy gift card balance to replace my Wonderboom 2 speaker with a Wonderboom 4 simply because of that. I have had my Wonderboom 2 for a few years and every time I have to charge it, I am cursing the stupid Micro USB connection because the plug is recessed behind a rubber plug and of course I never remember which way around the cable goes in. USB-C you can plug in either way and it’s a much better and easier connection and of course if I am travelling all I have to bring is a USB-C cable for everything. Please don’t take this personally, Barbara, but while it might be cute, small and sound good, the connectivity to me is important and of course there is also no mention about any waterproof or even water resistant rating and I can be rough on such things because I bring them outside in the garden, to the lake, the river or on a hiking or canoe trip and if they can’t swim and still work after getting dunked, they are not for me.

It is around the size of a deck of cards, and it looks like a little retro radio. It has bluetooth 5.0, a line-in cable for devices with headphone jacks, and an actual FM radio. It has fantastic sound and buttons to control playback including skipping forward and back. It has 9 hours of battery life which is less than the other speakers discussed in this thread, but it is also much cheaper. Right now the price on Amazon for this speaker is 27.90. I really like this little speaker because it has multiple capabilities, has great sound, and is also adorable. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07TDLK8HM?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title&th=1 On Wed, Sep 10, 2025 at 6:45 AM CJ & AA MAY <[email protected]<mailto:[email protected]>> wrote: Having seen your recommendation and read Amazon's review I am eagerly awaiting the arrival of these speakers. Just one query. You say there are three buttons, one for pairing, one to power off but also and on/off button in the middle. When would you use this mioddle button? When I am using blue tooth headphones, it is the device which stops and starts the sessions, not the blue tooth headphones. It looks like a little barrel, but as I said, about the diameter and height of a coffee mug. It has a rubber loop at the top where you have 3 buttons, one with a raised dot is the Bluetooth paring button, a large flat button in the middle is play/pause and a flat smaller button across from the Bluetooth paring button is the power on/off. On the bottom is also another flush button which is the base boost. It is fabric covered, but extremely tough and IP67 waterproof, definition is "can be submersed under 1 m of water for up to 30 minutes and it is dust proof". In more realistic terms it means you can take it with you in the shower and even throw it in the pool, in fact, it is designed to float and I also dropped mine many time and it just bounces a bit and otherwise it is no worse for it. And of course it's available on Amazon, Best Buy, probably Walmart and in the US I would assume Target and other major electronics and department stores. If you buy 2 of them they can be set up as a stereo pair and you can daisy chain even more of them using the Ultimate Ears app, the family goes from the Wonderboom which is the smallest to the Hyperboom which is the largest and in between are the Boom, Megaboom, Everboom and the Big Boom. You can actually group any of them together for a party of similar, e.g. if you had a Wonderboom, a Megaboom and a Hyperboom, they can all be grouped together to play the same thing. Another outstanding feature is the long Bluetooth range, Wonderboom is 40 meters (130 feet), Boom and Megaboom have a range of 45 metres, Everboom and Big Boom 55 metres and Hyperboom is 65 metres (200 feet). Battery life ranges from 14 hours for the Wonderboom all the way to 24 hours for the Hyperboom. If you Google Ultimate Ears Wonderboom, you'll find many links to places to buy as well as reviews. Obviously there are many other options, JBL also makes some pretty good dand popular ones as does Bose and there is the Beats Pill and Anker also has many options in their SoundCore line which are typically less expensive. Right now the Wonderboom seems to be on sale again, here in Canada it usually is $139.99 and it's currently on sale for $99.99 Canadian, I assume it would be regular $99 US and on sale maybe for $79. -----Original Message----- From: [email protected]<mailto:[email protected]> <[email protected]<mailto:[email protected]>> On Behalf Of Traci Duncan Sent: Tuesday, September 9, 2025 7:58 AM To: [email protected]<mailto:[email protected]> Subject: iOS Bluetooth small speaker Hi everyone, I have a bit of a different question. What are some of your favorite small speakers for your eye devices? I remember I saw one a few years ago, and I’m kicking myself I didn’t buy it. It looked like a small coffee or tea cup. It had a silicone handle. If you could offer up some of your favorites that you like and work well with voiceover, I’d appreciate it.
