Alex,
I'm surprised that there didn't appear to be an 'unsubscribe' address in
the emails of the group; they usually are and should be at least.
In future if similaar you could google the group name plus googlegroups
for exxample and there are your opptions.

I'm currently subscribed toa google group that I want to unsubscribe from. However
when I soend an email to the unsubscribe I don't get an email back "to remove
me from the group. i've tried going to the googlegroups website, but it's a royal
pain and I can't work out how to unsubscribe.
