You might recall that my landlord purchased me a Honeywell Home thermostat, Model TH2320WF4010, and I was wondering if it would work with the personal hotspot on my iPhone. Well, surprisingly, it does indeed work with the hotspot.
My brother asked his daughter to try and see if she could help me get the Wi-Fi set up, and I was happy to let her try, but I really didn't think it would stick with the hotspot. Thus, I must confess that I didn't really pay all that much attention to what she did, especially since she was visiting my brother from out of town for a few hours and just came over to my place to try and help. So I gave her the iPhone after I signed into the appropriate app and just let her give it a try. I did, however, after we saw it was working, ask her to go over a few of the settings using the actual buttons on the thermostat in case I ever had to try to set it up again myself, like when I change phones, which can be pretty often. I personally am not really concerned about setting up schedules and all of that, as I'm just primarily interested in changing the temperature and turning the thermostat from air to off to heat as the need arises. And thankfully, the thermostat connects to the hotspot whenever I turn on the hotspot and disconnects from it whenever I turn the hotspot on the phone off. So I just might not be getting that Spectrum internet right away after all, as I really don't need to control the thermostat when I'm away from my apartment.
