Hi Alan,
I tried playing channel 7 on both my Echo dot and my iPhone, and all works fine here. That said, here is what I did. I first actually tried to play the channel using Siri. Of coarse Siri gave me a problem the first time, but after that, it worked and started playing. I just said, Play channel 7 on Sirius XM. Like I said, the first time Siri just sit there, but the second time it worked. I then went into my Sirius XM app on my phone and did a search for Channel 7. After finding the right result, when I double tapped on it, it took me to that channel screen. I then had to swipe to the play button and double tap it to get it to play. I have not played Sirius on my Echo for quite a while because I normally just use my phone, so my account had unlinked from the skill. So I had to go to the settings of the Sirius skill in the app and relink my account. I am not sure, but either it remembered my log in info or used the Sirius app on my phone to help link them automatically. After that, I told my echo dot to play channel 7 on Sirius XM and it said, playing 70s on 7 on Sirius XM and started playing. I live in the northeast, but maybe Sirius XM is having issues where you live. I know that has happened in the past. The only other thing I can think of is to log out on your phone and log back in, and unlink your account on the echo and relink it. When I ask my Echo to play channel 7 or 70s on 7, I get a response of the announcement of the channel name followed by “Hmmm, I’m having trouble playing that right now.” I went to the Sirius skill on my Amazon Alexa app on my iPhone and disabled it and then reenabled it but this had no effect. When I open the Sirius app on my iPhone and attempt to play a channel by executing its play button, nothing is played on my iPhone and the play button appears to sort of blink. I suspect Sirius has done something to mess up things no doubt related to security in order to protect us from ourselves . I attempted to sign into Sirius on my desktop computer running Windows 10 with Firefox and noted that it forced me to receive a verification code. While I was successful in signing in, none of the channels play when executing their play button but instead provide a popup box stating “We’re having trouble playing this.” Before I consider what will no doubt be a vain attempt to cancel my Sirius subscription, I wanted comments from the list on what others are experiencing with Sirius. Thanks in advance for your replies. Alan Lemly -- The following information is important for all members of the V iPhone list.
