1. Press the side button. 2. put a finger or thumb at the bottom of your phone's screen. You should hear and feel a little bleep. 3. Slide thumb Or finger up until another bleep.
Then you have your Home Page. To reach App Switcher: Follow the first three instructions, but then continue sliding until yet another bleep. You are in App Switcher. To reach Control Center and Notifications, the same gestures apply in reverse coming from top of screen. You reach Control Center first, then Notifications. All of this might sound vague or clumsy. Just do it until you make it work for you and you finally get comfortable with it. You also can use the older standard methods to reach Control Center and Notifications. They were so new with this version (16E) that they first tried to insist the phone DID have a button. Then they discovered it did not. The rep helping me didn't know how to use any of the buttons on the sides of the phone. In all fairness, this was on Friday, and their shipment had just come in on Thursday. Why didn't I go to the Apple store? Because I live too far to get transportation. I just need some tips on setting it up better and using it without a button. Thank you for any help.
