I didn't know you could get a case with the magnets. Thanks for that information.

You can put it on a 100 Watt charger and it won't hurt it a bit, it will take as much as it needs. I hjust read an article which I believe was from 9to5Mac which stated that in tests using a MagSafe case actually improved the charging and gave you the full 7.5 Watts whereas just putting it on a wireless charger without magnet often only charged at between 4 and 6 Watts because it is much more difficult to line the phone up perfectly. If I were to get a 16E and wanted to use wireless charging I would certainly buy a good MagSafe case, Spigen and Esr as well as many others make them, so I can use the MagSafe charging stand I have. I know Apple is trying to leave stuff out to hit a certain price point, but I really wonder how much they save by leaving out those 3 magnets. -----Original Message----- From: 'Richard Turner' via VIPhone <viphone@googlegroups.com> Sent: Thursday, February 20, 2025 11:23 AM To: viphone@googlegroups.com Subject: RE: What is MagSafe compatibility? What if I got a 16E and put it on the charger that I have. I think it is 20W. Would it just use 7.5 and be OK, or would it not work for having that power, or would it damage the phone? Well, MagSafe is more than just wireless charging. My SE 2nd gen had wireless charging, but couldn't use MagSafe wireless charging. Here is a summary: MagSafe lets an iPhone magnetically connect to a charger and charge wirelessly as well as connect to a variety of accessories. MagSafe ensures ideal alignment between the iPhone and the charging pad, and allows for iPhones to wireless charge at 15 watts. MagSafe also allows iPhones to connect to various accessories, like special MagSafe cases or phone mounts. So, it allows for higher wattage wireless charging and to connect other things like cases and mounts.
