The app is called BlueSky. I had to make several attempts to get my account set up; I only got it done this morning. I managed to upload a photo and choose an avatar. I think the use of avatars creates a lot of unnecessary verbiage. I used to enjoy Twitter, and I'm not sure BlueSky is going to fill that space for me.
