Make sure it is updated to the latest version of iOS, on Monday iOS 18.1 will
be released and just give it some time, as it is a new phone it may do more
things in the background for a few days. I would also turn off the always on
display, this is in Settings > Display and Brightbness, it may not require a
lot of power, but it will use some and it's of no use for a blind person. Then
of course make sure your auto lock is set to 30 seconds or at least not more
than a minute, make sure raise to wake is off (that is also in Display and
Brightness).

Sounds like you may want to check which apps or settings could be draining your
phone. I purchased the 16 pro, and I'm totally impressed at the amount of
battery left at the end of the day.

Subject: Battery life on new phone

Hello everyone,

As I mentioned last week, I upgraded my phone to the 16 pro. This is the first
time I have had a pro.

I have noticed that my battery seems to run down pretty quickly. Or at least,
in my mind it does. I feel like my older iphone had a better battery life.

I thought this new phone would last me all day, and I wouldn't have to charge
it until I went to bed at night.

Is this not an expectation that I should have?

I do understand that battery life has to also do with what I am using the phone
for. Lately, it has been to look at Facebook, check email several times a day,
sometimes use it to work on school assignments. So, then I am using a Microsoft
App, or pages. I also sometimes use Chat GPT, and Be My Eyes. But, not all day
for either of them.

I will admit that I probably use my phone 6, to 8 hours a day. I have it set to
tell me once a week, how much screen time I have used. And it is consistently
over 6, to 7 hours. So, I am sure this makes a difference.

What do you all think?

What can I possibly do to get my battery to last all day?

What settings can I check?

Thank you,

Terri
