Hello Tom, I am running the latest commercial release of iOS on my beloved 14 and Siri identifies music just as well as it has always done.
In fact, even in a crowded restaurant or out on the sidewalk, Siri has never failed to respond with the name of the song in question. A couple of days ago, while in a car at a stop light, I heard music being played from another vehicle and, even as the light changed and our respective vehicles began to move farther apart, Siri managed to grab the name of the song the driver of the other car was playing. When I ask Siri to identify a song, I never have a headset attached to the device. Using Pandora on the same speakers to bring in the George Friedrich Handel channel I get the same results. Are you using Sonos Radio, TuneIn, Spotify, or what for your source? I'll try to dumplicate the issue but want to know I'm trying the same situation. But now it says it can't recognize music right now, which it used to do pretty reliably. When I asked Siri why it can't do that, it gives me the usual BS answer about it finding something on the web but won't give me a direct answer, which is another pet peeve. Don't tell me that you found something on the web, just give me the effin' answer, dammit! I get so aggravated with Siri's apparent stupidity and annoying behavior. So what's the deal with Siri's inability to recognize music that's being played and picked up with the phone's microphone? Anybody notice this? If so, what did you do about it?
