The funny thing is that there are apps on iOS, such as Google Voice and Skype, that allow for the functionality as you describe it. Amazing, eh? Lastly, once the list has been filtered there should be a "Select All" and "Delete" option which would delete only the calls currently visible, e.g. say you want to delete all outgoing calls or all Missed calls. Right now if even if you tap on the "Missed" tab and then tap on Edit" and "Delete Selected", the entire recent call list is deelted.
