Whenever something strange is going on checking screen recognition and doing a reboot are always what people should do first.

I am posting this in case someone else has this problem. If you have not, feel free to hit the delete key now. A couple of months ago I suddenly could not delete texts or voicemails. I would flick up and down and all option were gone. Then I did an iOS update and the problem went away. A week ago it came back. A wonderful Apple agent helped me figure out that the problem was with the rotor. There is a feature on there called Screen Recognition and it was selected.
