I'm not an expert, but my team has developed and does support a mobile app. You are able to update content in a mobile app now without waiting for the user to download a new version of the app. Note that this is just for content. The app still needs to be updated for other functional changes. I assume this could have repercussions for accessibility, but these accessibility regressions should be limited. I'm also not sure how the need to update your apps would go away altogether, at least not with this method of updating content.

Facebook has made some under the hood improvements without updating and that is happening more and more and more with all kinds of apps. I fear this is not a good sign for us depending on accessibility at all. I guess within some years, app updates will nolonger be issued as the UI of apps will be changed automatically.
