Hi Rena,
The keyboard is just a standard PC keyboard with a normal USB A type
plug. What you do need to make it work with your Iphone or Ipad is what
Apple call a USB camera adaptor kit. It is basically a small flattish
piece of plastic with a short stubby lead coming out of one side with a
lightning plug to fit your Iphone and a standard USB A type socket on
the other side into which you plug your keyboard or other USB device.
It was originally developed to enable people to connect their digital
cameras to their Iphones and upload their pictures etc, hence the name.
It comes in two variants a USB 2 adaptor as above and a USB 3 variant
which also has a lightning socket on the adaptor to enable you to power
your phone in case the device you are connecting puts a heavy load on
your phones battery.
It is not a passive device, it does contain a chip to carry out the
necessary comms protocol conversion work so although you can find these
adaptors on Amazon much cheaper be careful as they may not work as well
as the genuine article.
Hope this helps.

Hello,
I heard about some keyboards that instead of being Bluetooth, have a
cable to connect to the iPhone. Does anyone know anything about it?
