FYI: Pixels use an optical sensor. Essentially, it's a camera. Samsung uses ultrasonic sensors. These are more accurate and I believe capture more data points for which to make an unlock decision. It's been the case that fingerprint sensors, especially optical ones, do have some level of false-positive recognition.
