I can name all but the 4th gen echo. Interesting. Its not worth reinstalling the app. LOL.

Have you done a search on the web to see if anyone else has had a problem renaming one? Also, if you have another smartphone or iPad signed into your Alexa account, I suggest that you try renaming it on a second device. Finally, although it may prove to be more trouble than it's worth, you may consider deleting the Alexa app from your phone / tablet, rebooting the device, reinstalling Alexa, then try to rename the Echo afterwards. A couple of months or so, ago, this was the only solution that worked for me when my Alexa app refused to perform what was considered to be a normal function. I am running Alexa on an 8 Plus and an iPad. Worse case scenario, you can simply call Amazon tech support. Please let us know what happens. As I recall, after entering the new name, you need only to press the back button. Now I have not renamed an Echo since Christmas and there have been a great many updates to the software since then but … If this does not work, let us know, and I will fire up an Echo and give it a try to let you know.
