Pairing is supposed to be easy, you just open the case and it will pop up on your phone; then again most Bluetooth headsets or earpieces are easy to pair. As for cost, remember to add that you are in Canada since it doesn't do you much good if people tell you they are $179 which is what they cost in the United States. Here in Canada they are $239 and you can buy them of course from Apple, Best Buy also sells them, but you have to fork out an extra 99 Cents as they are $239.99 there. In my opinion too expensive considering that you are basically buying into a subscription, they are rechargeavble so they have a limited life span and I never heard about Apple offering a battery replacement for a set of Airpods. Battery life is supposed to be 6 hours so assume they do reasonably well with 500 charge cycles and you have to charge them every 2 days; this would give you a thousand days so roughly 3 years. I think since the first Airpods were only released 4 years ago we haven't heard that much about when the battery life declines to the point when it is a pain in the ar so to speak to use them because maybe they only last 3 hours. There might be people on the list who have bought some of the original Airpods 4 years ago and who can comment on this if of course they still have them and haven't upgraded to one of the newer models. This of course is Apple's intend, you used to buy a good headset and had it for years, now Apple is making the products obsolete after a few years because they come out with new models with better features and people then want them. Anyways, even if you kept and used them for 4 or 5 years, it basically works out to around $54 per year if you kept them for 5 years and $68 a month if you kept them for 4 years. Everybody's choice of course, but these are definitely more of an "I want them item" then an "I need them" item and for me personally there is very little which makes me want them.
