I agree it should start in the selection screen. I also agree it should have an option to auto start or not. If you turn off auto start it should wait for you to pick the mode. Why is this useful? If I scanned a bar code earlier and Now I want to scan money it won't be in the right mode. Let the user have the control. Hopefully there will be a lot of improvements coming in 2022.
