Hello Richard
Thanks, it is very valid. I think you are correct because I do better placing
the phone on a hard surface. I also think that maybe I am lifting my finger too
high and as you say, it is at an angle when I bring it down.
Thanks for the suggestions.

Subject: RE: Double tap issue

If you hear Edit Mode, it is because you accidently swiped upward at an angle
instead of doing a straight on double tap. I have had that happen, and I have
very good motor skills. I think iOS 15 is more responsive and the slightest
touch is recognized.
I also think that when you end up on another app, it is because focus somehow
moved to that app; maybe a very slight brush of the screen with another finger
that you were not conscious of having gotten so close to the screen.

I recommend trying to either flick to the app and then weight a couple of
seconds to make sure the app you want is the last thing VoiceOver said, then do
a double tap with one finger and make sure you are hitting straight down on the
screen. Havin the phone laying flat on a table helps to insure you are not
going to hit it at an angle.

Or, use the other method of placing your finger on the app you want, do not
move that finger, leave it resting lightly on that app and while that finger is
touching the app; just touch the screen with another finger. That is the
alternative method to a double tap.

HTH,

Richard

Subject: Double tap issue

Hello list
I thought the below problem has to do with my lack of proper motoric functions
but now a friend who does not have a neurological problem encounters the same
issue. For clarity I shall explain: many times when I swipe to an app, for
example messages, then when I double tap to activate it I hear "edit" or even
the name of another app. So it seems that somehow my finger moves between the
two taps. As I said, my friend complains about the same issue. I have an iPhone
11 and she has an iPhone 7. Has anyone experienced this and can anyone come up
with a solution?
Regards
Fanus
