Possibly, Do you have an apple watch or an iPad that also gets the messages to it?
I find my watch doesn’t delete / refresh the same as my phone and neither by default does my iPad. Cheers. Neither text message was received in full. Both text messages were around a 144 character count I copied / pasted the partial message into Word to get the character count.
