Well, have you checked out Fantastical? If you ignore/refuse to do the subscription, which is stupidly expensive, the basic calendar works well and you can type sentences kind of to enter appointments. For example, in the create an appointment field you could write, Zoom meeting, 11/30/2020, from 9Am to 10AM And hit add and it would put the title as Zoom Meeting, it would put it on November 30, from 9 to 10 AM. I think they have made the basic version free.
And, it basically puts the information in the native calendar but displays it a bit differently, especially if you pick the month view, then the upper half of the screen is laid out like a wall calendar, or a braille calendar. The lower have has your reminders and appointments. When you touch a day on the month view, you will hear, November 30, 1 appointment, or however many you have. I stopped using it because I have gotten used to the native calendar's new idiosyncrasies, but it might meet your needs.
