Hi Kim, Someone else has probably said this but if you look at the flat face of the Apple tv the power cable connects on the bottom left in what may feel like a figure 8 socket, Then you have the HDMI port in the middle and then The network port on the right of the bottom Once you have the HDMI and power plugged in and your tv set to the apple tv input,
If you hold the remote with the touch pad end pointing to the tv The round button on the top left of the buttons, the top of the 3 circular buttons Press it quickly three times and voiceover will start speaking to you through your Tv the bottom right is the volume up and down.the top right is the home button. This should help to get you started.
