Hi Dani, Yeah the fit bit works in conjunction with an app on a phone be it an iPhone or similar smart phone.
The apple watch is again working with an app from your iPhone that allows you to set alarms etc and haptic feedback is what does the vibration side of things. I will say though that I do some times miss the haptic feedback / vibrations from my watch, And the sensitivity is up high, I'm assuming I've gotten use to it but everyone is very different so still look these things up as they may be useful.
