I have a few points to make on this thread. First is that Marilyn has nothing to apologize for, and I hope she doesn’t judge this whole list by a few rude members. As anyone can tell, this list is full of members who want to help other blind people. But it also can’t keep mean and self righteous people from joining the list.
IMHO, the moderator doesn’t need to give this person a second chance before kicking them off the list. Marilyn made an honest mistake, but anyone who would tell someone else on the list that they don’t have a brain, is just not someone who should be given another chance or be allowed on this list. Finally, I’m on plenty of lists which have nothing to do with blindness and I don’t find blindness related lists to have a greater number of rude people on it then your average list. I wish it were the case that blind people would kinder and more gracious then the general public, but unfortunately this isn’t the case. I also don’t think that the opposite is true, and that is that the blindness community is more mean spirited or has more rude people in it then the general community.
