Interesting but which speaker?

In recent versions of IOS, voice over continues to use the iPhone speaker when a Bluetooth speaker is connected. A couple days ago I turned voice over off and then back on while my phone was connected to a Bluetooth speaker. When voice over came back on voice over had changed and was going through the speaker instead of the phone. Voice over continued to go through the speaker the next day when I reconnected my phone with the same speaker. I then turned off the speaker and shut off voice over and then restarted it.
