Over the years, I have heard both sides saying whether it is better to close often, or not to bother. One argument supporting the not to have to close them often is that after an app has not been used in a while, I am not sure how long it takes, the word active no longer appears beside it in the app switcher. It allegedly is just in the background, waiting to be made active again. But then I think that apps that are actively looking for something, such as location, take more power. So, I compromise, in that if I know I will use an app again, say within an hour or so, I leave it active. Being that when it is opened, it takes a second or two to activate itself, and that power has to come from somewhere. I will close it if I know I won't use it again all that soon.
