Have you tried a 2 finger swipe down, to get Voiceover to read the screen. Then pressing the volume up button.
Sometimes, Voice over can get knocked down to zero, which doesn’t affect siri speech. Dave. I can engage Siri, and he will answer questions, make calls. When I ask him to open an app such as messages, speech stops. I suppose messages is open, but I can’t interact with it. I have tried three-finger doubletap in case I turned off speech, but that isn’t it. Is there a way to reset this beautiful bugger? I’m totally stimied.
