Interesting you purchased the red, I have to admit I normally buy black or space grey but he red does sound like a nice colour and the clear case will pretty much not be seen. Your instincts are correct, another case of welcome to iOS 13. Those extra things like text format, insert attachments are a new feature in iOS 13. Some of us would not call them a feature...
