Exactly. It never used to asked me where I wanted to texts or which address to use or email or iPhone. I'm talking about years past. The layering seems to get a little more cumbersome as time goes on for some apps such as how we've already discussed what's going on in the mail app. These sorts of things drive me crazy. I don't like to have to swipe anymore than necessary. Or tap or any of that. In the very first computer class I ever took decades ago the teacher said they were three components of working on a computer. There's ardware, software, and the jellywhere. He claims that most mistakes come from that third category and I'm sure all of you can guess what or who is the jelly were.
