Anybody who needs to enter longer sets of numbers can always use a Bluetooth keypad or look for a Bluetooth numeric pad specifically for this purpose. I think this may be new in iOS 13, but I just tried this and it works perfectly. I called my credit card company and at first I was asked to Press 1 for English and doing so on my Logitech K780's numeric pad worked. Then I was asked to enter my 16-digit credit card number and once again typing it very rapidly on the numeric pad on my keyboard and then pressing Shift + 3 on the number row which is the pound symbol worked perfectly.

In the iPhone contacts, add the phone number as always, but then find the shift key, which is in the lower left part of the phone keypad when you are entering a number in a contact. Tap that once and the 4 will now be a comma. Repeat for as many commas as you think you will need before the code. Usually 2 or so works for me. Then, enter the code, followed by the pound sign or number sign, you may need to use the shift again and then the pound sign is below the 9, or is it in place of the 9. Not sure right now. Then, if it is like some systems I’ve used, there is a delay before the system says press star to enter as host or pound to enter as guest.
